Ducati 900 FE A Bike for All Roads

ducati

There is only one word that best describes the Ducati 900 FE and that is classic. This is the last model to be manufactured by Ducati for its carburetor-based 900cc Supersport bike. Production of the SS line ran from 1992 to 1998 where the fuel-injected 900 Supersport appeared.

Since the Ducati 900 FE is the last of its line to be produced it now includes all the upgrades that were created throughout the 900 Supersport’s run. Ducati ensured that their 900SS Fe series remained in the halls of Supersports history, they only produced 800 units of their Final Edition where 500 units were sent to several countries and the rest were sold in the United States. All of the 800 units were given a number seen on their triple clamp.

Motorbikes these days are all about outperforming one another but with the Ducati 900 FE it was never about what numbers it can produce but rather about providing its riders with no other reason but to enjoy being out on the road regardless of speed and road conditions.

It is true that the Ducati 900 FE is considered as an exclusive series but it isn’t really one to be considered a collector’s item. What it is, is a motorbike that is equipped with L-twin engine that is air and oil cooled, a motor that is robust and torque-laden, 2-valve actuation, dry clutch that jingles, and a superb ergonomic design that is meant for all day riding in comfort and style.

The Ducati 900 FE has been painted silver but there were dealers and importers that used red body paint for it but still the silver body work was quite popular with many riders. Only the Ducat 900 FE was painted silver while its predecessors came in yellow, red and black.

Those who are looking for a bike that can be ridden on all kinds of road conditions without straining yourself too much should definitely consider getting the Ducati 900 FE. Ducati has certainly impressed a lot with its line of Supersport bikes and the 900 FE is no different. Just imagine how it would feel to ride on a comfortable bike with the wind in your hair and twisting and turning without too much effort. Maintenance won’t be a problem as this bike’s air and oil cooled engine reduces the need for you to maintain it on a regular basis.
