Race to the Clouds at Pikes Peak

Victory Motorcycles, in partnership with Roland Sands Design and Cycle World, will race a new prototype engine at Pikes Peak International Hill Climb on June 28, 2015.

The prototype racing motorcycle, which will be piloted by Cycle World Lead Test Rider Don Canet, is named Project 156 for the 156 turns in the Race to the Clouds. Featuring twin 67mm throttles, downdraft runners and liquid cooling, this custom Roland Sands bike will maximize power, torque and engine speed.

Started in 1916, the Pikes Peak race is the second-oldest motorsport event in America after the Indianapolis 500. The track measures 12.42 miles over 156 turns, climbing 4,720 feet from the start at Mile 7 on Pikes Peak Highway to the finish at 14,110 feet, on grades averaging 7 percent.
