Riding the 2014 Kymco Myroad 700

Kymco has been around for decades and aside from manufacturing small displacement engines for scooters and bikes for other companies like BMW, they are also making top of the line scooters like their latest 2014 Kymco Myroad 700i.

It is not surprising to see scooters in urban areas as their maneuverability, compact size and lightweight body allow their riders to squeeze through tough traffic jams. What’s more, these bikes are also capable of enduring open roads without any difficulties especially with their speed and wind protection features.

In the case of the Myroad 700i, this bike has the largest displacement in terms of engine in its class. Kymco has installed a 699.5cc fuel-injected, liquid cooled engine in the Myroad 700i which is capable of producing 59 horsepower and torque at 46 lb-ft. However, after it has gone through the Continuously Variable Transmission, only 50 hp of power reaches its rear wheel which can be a bit disappointing. Nevertheless, once the Myroad 700i is underway, you will feel the speed it is capable of producing.

The design of the 2014 Kymco Myroad 700i may not be as modern as you like it to be with its triple headlights, angular front fairing and turn signals that are incorporated with the side mirrors. However, the passenger foot pegs can be deployed with a push of a button which is a good innovation that this bike needs. However, the look and feel of the gauge in the cockpit may not be up to your expectations since it is made from plastic. The display certainly lacks information like the gauge to check ambient temperature as well as other useful features. This limitation can be a problem especially while you are on the road.

Scooters are designed to be comfortable for long distance traveling and the 2014 Kymco Myroad 700i is no exception. Although the cockpit itself may feel a bit cramped for some, you can still maneuver your bike easily. The seats are relatively comfortable but after less than an hour on the road you can actually start to feel the seat pan underneath the cushion.

The 2014 Kymco Myroad 700i is also equipped with enough storage space for your things which is great especially for those long hours on the road. The wind screen can be adjusted according to your preferences but you will need a tool to adjust the height. There is no doubt that there is more to the 2014 Kymco Myroad 700i which is why it is worth a try if you are looking for a new scooter to use.
